Variation in Warfarin Use at Hospital Discharge After Isolated Bioprosthetic Mitral Valve Replacement - An Analysis of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Adult Cardiac Surgery Database.
CONCLUSIONS: Although patient characteristics and post-operative events may be associated with the prescription of warfarin following BMVR, substantial surgeon and hospital variability remains. This variability largely ignores the established practice guidelines, and warrants further study to define the optimal anticoagulation strategy in BMVR patients. Left ventricular assist device exchange for the treatment of HeartMate II pump thrombosis.

Redo aortic valve surgery versus transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation for failing surgical bioprosthetic valves: consecutive patients in a single-center setting.
CONCLUSIONS: The present investigation shows that both groups, irrespective of different baseline comorbidities, show very good early clinical outcomes. On-pump beating heart versus conventional coronary artery bypass grafting: comparative study on early and long-term clinical outcomes.
Conclusions: The OPB strategy may be as safe and effective as the conventional strategy during CABG among patients with similar risk profiles. Fast-track anesthesia in lateral mini-thoracotomy for transapical transcatheter valve implantation
CONCLUSIONS: Fast-track anesthesia using paravertebral-blockade for transcatheter transapical valve replacement in high-risk patients is a possible anesthetic approach. An effective PVB, in addition to a double-lumen laryngeal mask, provide an alternative strategy to conventional general anesthesia.
