One-Year Outcome of Patients with Chest Pain in the Rule-Out Group According to the 0-Hour/1-Hour Algorithm
Int Heart J. 2023;64(4):590-595. doi: 10.1536/ihj.23-076.ABSTRACTThe European Society of Cardiology recommends the 0/1-hour algorithm for risk stratification of patients with suspected non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction as class I, level B; however, there are few reports on the long-term prognosis, resulting in a rule-out group. We aimed to determine whether implementation of the 0-hour/1-hour algorithm is safe and effective in emergency department (ED) patients with possible acute coronary syndrome (ACS) through a 1-year follow-up period. Our study analyzed the 1-year follow-up data from a prospective pre-post study o...

E-135 Dejerine-roussy syndrome in the setting of right sigmoid sinus thrombosis: a unique case report
DiscussionThis case illustrates the important clinical aspects and physical findings needed to diagnose DRS. The presence of focal allodynia and hyperalgesia with recent cerebrovascular incidents provides significant evidence for DRS. The purpose of this case is to provide awareness and to increase clinical suspicion of DRS during examination, especially in the setting of cerebral venous sinus occlusion as infarction alone may not present as atypical allodynia.Disclosures S. O-021 Concurrent middle meningeal artery embolization for treatment of chronic subdural hematomas
This study provides evidence from a multi-institutional cohort that performing concurrent MMAe in the perioperative period as an adjunct to surgical evacuation is a safe and effective means to reduce surgical recurrence in patients with NASHs.Abstract O-021 Table 1Procedural details of 145 patients (149 NASHs) who underwent concurrent MMAe Characteristic Value (range or%) Antiplatelet/anticoagulation use Antiplatelet 46/147* (31) Anticoagulant 29/148* (20) Both 9/148* (6) Prior SDH evacuation 38/149* (26) Perioperative platelet count < 100K 8/148* (5) Procedure details Anesthesia General 63/149* (42) MAC 57/149* (38) C...

Influence of Exercise Training on the Left Atrium:Implications for Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Failure and Stroke
Am J Physiol Heart Circ Physiol. 2023 Jul 28. doi: 10.1152/ajpheart.00322.2023. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe left atrium (LA) plays a critical role in receiving pulmonary venous return and modulating left ventricular (LV) filling. With the onset of exercise, LA function contributes to the augmentation in stroke volume. Due to the growing focus on atrial imaging, there is now evidence that structural remodelling and dysfunction of the LA is associated with adverse outcomes including incident cardiovascular disease. In patients with established disease, pathological changes in atrial structure and function are associate...
