CONCLUSION: Our large population-based study identified sex differences in pre-hospital management by emergency medical services of women and men admitted to hospital with stroke. Training novice users to assess stroke aetiology in remote settings using transcranial ultrasound: pilot study.
CONCLUSIONS: Transcranial ultrasound scans of a quality to allow expert interpretation can be acquired by inexperienced transcranial ultrasound operators after receiving a brief training. This could potentially be used by medical staff working in remote and rural areas to facilitate acute care for stroke patients, but further work with a larger sample is needed. European Academy of Neurology and European Stroke Organization consensus statement and practical guidance for pre ‐hospital management of stroke
ConclusionsThese guidelines inform on the contemporary approach to patients with suspected stroke in the pre‐hospital setting. Further studies, preferably randomized controlled trials, are required to examine the impact of particular interventions on quality parameters and outcome.
