Training healthcare providers to respond to intimate partner violence against women
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, IPV training for HCPs may be effective for outcomes that are precursors to behaviour change. There is some, albeit weak evidence that IPV training may improve HCPs' attitudes towards IPV. Training may also improve IPV knowledge and HCPs' self-perceived readiness to respond to those affected by IPV, although we are not certain about this evidence. Although supportive evidence is weak and inconsistent, training may improve HCPs' actual responses, including the use of safety planning, identification and documentation of IPV in women's case histories. The sustained effect of training on these outcomes bey...

Identification and Management of Night Eating Syndrome in the Adolescent and Young Adult Population
Conclusions: NES is a clinical entity that requires further investigation, especially concerning adolescents and the development of symptoms during the transition into adulthood. More research is needed on the treatment of the syndrome, as several treatments have been studied but none are US Food and Drug Administration approved.PMID:35180815 | DOI:10.4088/PCC.21r03062

Implementation of the cognitive apprenticeship model for enhancement of advanced searching skills in a pharmacy academia rotation
CONCLUSIONS: Review of the pre-/post-course self-assessment taken by the cohort indicates the SSCC is a success in terms of improving student confidence in accessing and synthesizing primary literature. As the crash course is further refined and implemented, there may be more opportunity to embed the course into didactic curriculum and residency programs and to potentially reproduce it for other health science disciplines.PMID:35210972 | PMC:PMC8830337 | DOI:10.5195/jmla.2022.1108

Strategies for enhancing the implementation of school-based policies or practices targeting diet, physical activity, obesity, tobacco or alcohol use
CONCLUSIONS: The use of implementation strategies may result in large increases in implementation of interventions, and slight improvements in measures of student diet, and physical activity. Further research is required to assess the impact of implementation strategies on such behavioural- and obesity-related outcomes, including on measures of alcohol use, where the findings of one trial suggest it may slightly increase student risk. Given the low certainty of the available evidence for most measures further research is required to guide efforts to facilitate the translation of evidence into practice in this setting.PMID:...

A systematic review of pre-service training on vaccination and immunization
CONCLUSION: This review was the first step to understanding pre-service training on immunization. Further research is needed to inform pre-service training programs in low- and middle-income countries, particularly for nurses, vaccinators with low-level educational backgrounds, and other healthcare professional students. Prioritizing essential audiences, designing and delivering practical training, and evaluating results will help prepare students for the immunization challenges of tomorrow.PMID:37069032 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.03.062

Original Research: 'Do I See Myself?' Exploring the Potential for Online Images to Attract a Diverse Nursing Workforce
CONCLUSIONS: The findings show a significant lack of diversity in gender and skin tone regarding how nurses are depicted in online images found via a popular image search engine. This lack of diversity may discourage people in some population groups from entering the health care field and could further contribute to the nursing shortage.PMID:37615465 | DOI:10.1097/01.NAJ.0000978140.39779.05
