Patient-doctor interactions around alternative and complementary medicine in the context of oncology care in a Latin American country
CONCLUSIONS: The low frequency of communication contrasts to the increasing use of CAM. Divergent perspectives between doctors and patients could limit shared decision-making on the use of CAM. Enhanced knowledge and education on CAM for both actors is fundamental to improve their interaction and to move away from paternalistic and confrontational communication, particularly in a world region with cultural backgrounds that influence the use of CAM.PMID:37734425 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2023.102986

Trouble started in the form of rivulets of sweat dampening the waistband of my underwear. It was a bluebird afternoon in Phoenix in December of 2020, mid 60s, desert dry, and my heart was jackhammering against my ribcage. Breathing felt like I was sucking air through a stir straw. A small ABC News crew was arrayed before me, ready to broadcast the report I’d written that day, but with my vision narrowed to a needle’s eye, I could barely see them. I tried to swallow away the sandiness in my mouth but realized I’d forgotten how.

Efficacy of SBAR combined with CICAR Communication Mode in Enhancing CT Hydration Effect and Nursing Satisfaction in Elderly Patients with Low Education
CONCLUSION: Nurse-patient communication using the SBAR and CICAR communication mode improved CT hydration effectiveness and nursing satisfaction in elderly patients with low education. CONCLUSIONS: The nanodrug complexes are successfully translated into several modern medications. The new and innovative nanodrug can potentially be used precisely and correctly to diagnose and treat the terminally ill patients. However, the developed nanodrug complexes, whether they are carriers or therapeutic agents, need thorough physiochemical, pharmacological, and immunological characterization before actual use in clinical practice in different human population of the world.PMID:37574204
