Background: Pulmonary system dysfunction is a hallmark of cystic fibrosis (CF) disease. In addition to impaired cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator protein, dysfunctional β 2 -adrenergic receptors (β 2 AR) contribute to low airway function in CF.
