Prophylactic drug management for febrile seizures in children
CONCLUSIONS: We found reduced recurrence rates for intermittent diazepam and continuous phenobarbital, with adverse effects in up to 30% of children. The apparent benefit for clobazam treatment in one trial needs to be replicated. Levetiracetam also shows benefit with a good safety profile; however, further study is required. Given the benign nature of recurrent febrile seizures, and the high prevalence of adverse effects of these drugs, parents and families should be supported with adequate contact details of medical services and information on recurrence, first aid management, and, most importantly, the benign nature of ...

The effectiveness of schema therapy for patients with anxiety disorders, OCD, or PTSD: A systematic review and research agenda
CONCLUSIONS: Schema therapy is a promising treatment for anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. Yet, there is a systematic problem in the quality of research despite growing clinical interest and application. We therefore concluded with a research agenda presenting recommendations for future research that will be crucial for building a solid evidence-base for schema therapy in chronic anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.PRACTITIONER POINTS: A systematic review on the effectiveness of schema therapy for anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD. Preliminary but limited evidence that schema therapy leads to beneficial effects in disorder-specific symptoms. Prel...

How Large a Study Is Needed to Detect TKA Revision Rate Reductions Attributable to Robotic or Navigated Technologies? A Simulation-based Power Analysis
CONCLUSION: Based on these simulations, it appears that TA-TKA interventions could potentially result in a relative reduction in revision rates as large as 27% (from 7.5% down to about 5.5% at 15 years for the intervention with the most precise coronal alignment); however, since this 2% absolute reduction in revision rates is relatively small in comparison with the baseline success rate of TKA and would not be realized until 15 years after the index surgery, traditional RCT studies would require excessively large numbers of patients to be enrolled and excessively long follow-up times to demonstrate whether such a reduction...

Internet searches conducted by people who stutter: association with speech-language therapy and severity of stuttering
Logoped Phoniatr Vocol. 2022 Apr 12:1-8. doi: 10.1080/14015439.2022.2044513. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTStuttering is a fluency disorder that is multidimensional because it involves more than speech difficulties. People who stutter can use the Internet to find out more about their condition and connect with other people in the same position, yet in Croatia, there are not nearly as many online sources on stuttering or as many possibilities to connect with other people who stutter as in the USA or Great Britain. If one does not speak English well, a lot of information about stuttering will simply be denied to them, especi...
