Differences in acute ischaemic stroke care in Poland: analysis of claims database of National Health Fund in 2017.
Abstract Selected and basic indicators of acute ischaemic stroke care in Poland are reported cross-regionally based on the analysis of claims data of the National Health Fund (NFZ) in 2017, the most reliable source of healthcare funding in the country, being a single public payer. For research purposes, a selection algorithm based on the diagnosis coded as I63 according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) was used to identify all ischaemic stroke patients in the claims database provided by the NFZ. Stroke units and other centres providing treatment for acute ischaemic stroke patients were exam...

Prognostic significance of age in patients with acute ischaemic stroke treated with intravenous thrombolysis
CONCLUSIONS: AIS patients treated with reperfusion therapy and aged 80 or more have around a six times higher risk of an unfavourable outcome or death within three months of stroke onset compared to those aged below 60. Higher NIHSS score after IVT, any signs of disability before stroke as measured with mRS, and higher CRP levels are independent risk factors for worse prognosis in the elderly.PMID:35060614 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2022.0010

Predicting postoperative ischemic stroke problems in patients following coronary bypass surgery using neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-lymphocyte ratio, and red blood cell distribution width values
CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing CABG, high preoperative PLR, NLR, and RDW values can be used as useful and independent risk factors for the prediction of postoperative ischemic stroke.PMID:35891995 | PMC:PMC9290396 | DOI:10.5114/kitp.2022.117499
