EP39* Collateral damages of COVID-19 on the hungarian ischemic stroke care
ConclusionsCollateral damages of the COVID-19 outbreak on the Hungarian IS care system were demonstrated. The disproportionally greater decline of IS admission numbers could partially be explained by the effect of health emergency operative measures. Further studies are needed to evaluate the causes of our observations.ReferencesBersano A, Kraemer M, Touzé E, Weber R, Alamowitch S, Sibon I, et al. IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 4769: Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Prehospital Management of Patients with Suspected Acute Stroke: A Retrospective Cohort Study
Ladny Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS) can be successfully handled if it is noticed early in the prehospital setting and immediately diagnosed in the emergency department (ED). The coronavirus pandemic has altered the way health care is delivered and has had a profound impact on healthcare delivery. The effects could include prioritizing the prevention of COVID-19 spread, which could result in the discontinuation or deferral of non-COVID-19 care. Neurological symptoms in hospitalised patients with COVID-19 and their association with in-hospital mortality
CONCLUSIONS: Most hospitalised patients with COVID-19 experience neurological symptoms. Decreased level of consciousness, delirium, arterial hypotension, and stroke during or before hospitalisation increase the risk of in-hospital mortality.PMID:34037979 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2021.0039

Association between cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular drug therapy, and in-hospital outcomes in patients with COVID-19: data from a large single-center registry in Poland
CONCLUSION: Among cardiovascular risk factors and diseases, HF and DM appeared to increase in-hospital COVID-19 mortality, whereas the use of cardiovascular drugs was associated with lower mortality.PMID:33926173 | DOI:10.33963/KP.15990
