Diabetes linked oral complications in south Indian cohorts
Bioinformation. 2023 Jan 31;19(1):85-87. doi: 10.6026/97320630019085. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTDiabetes is characterized by elevated blood sugar and insulin resistance. In poorly controlled or uncontrolled diabetes, persistent hyperglycemia causes oral and systemic problems. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate biochemical indicators for oral health and diabetes using a fully automatic biochemistry analyzer which separates patient serum from blood samples. Data shows that diabetic oral complex patients showed high RBS, HbA1c, FBS, and PBSS. Thus, dental condition is linked to diabetes.PMID:37720287 | PMC:PMC10504521 | ...

Development and Characterization of Guinea Pig Anti-Insulin Polyclonal Antibody
Appl Biochem Biotechnol. 2023 Sep 15. doi: 10.1007/s12010-023-04670-z. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDevelopment and characterization of guinea pig anti-insulin polyclonal antibody against a target-specific insulin antigen. In India, an insulin immunogenicity kit for detecting insulin antibodies (neutralizing Nab) is an unmet medical need for diabetic patient's routine diagnosis. Type 1 diabetics rely on insulin injections daily basis for survival; if the body develops anti-insulin antibodies and neutralizes the exogenous recombinant insulin, glucose control is lost, and the patient eventually dies. Antibodies are excellen...

RNA binding protein IGF2BP1 synergizes with ETV6-RUNX1 to drive oncogenic signaling in B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
CONCLUSION: Our data suggest a combined impact of the ETV6::RUNX1 fusion protein and RNA binding protein, IGF2BP1 in activating multiple oncogenic pathways in B-ALL which makes IGF2BP1 and these pathways as attractive therapeutic targets and biomarkers.PMID:37670323 | DOI:10.1186/s13046-023-02810-1

Differences in type 2 diabetes risk between East, South, and Southeast Asians living in Singapore: the multi-ethnic cohort
CONCLUSIONS: Different Asian ethnic groups have unique biological risk factor profiles related to T2D development that may warrant targeted approaches for prevention and treatment.PMID:37507146 | DOI:10.1136/bmjdrc-2023-003385

Changes in diabetic and renal profile of people exposed to fluoride in south India
In conclusion, though there is no significant effect of fluoride on FBS, PPBS and HbA1c, insulin is the determining factor for glucose homeostasis which is decreased. Microalbumin is yet another marker for renal clearance which is increased. Therefore, fluoride shall be considered as a parameter in prognosis of metabolic disorder especially Diabetes mellitus in fluoride endemic areas.PMID:37432671 | PMC:PMC10326338 | DOI:10.6026/97320630018820
