Increased risk of vascular dementia in heart attack survivors
(Aarhus University) It is well known that vascular dementia is triggered by factors such as stroke, but an extensive study from Aarhus University, Denmark, now shows that heart attack also is associated with increased risk -- by 35 per cent, in fact.According to Jens Sundb ø ll, who is behind the study, this can be an argument for more intensive preventive efforts.

Educational inequality in cardiovascular diseases: a sibling approach.
CONCLUSIONS: Confounding from factors shared by siblings explained the associations between education and the cardiovascular disease outcomes but to varying degrees. This should be taken into account when planning interventions aimed at reducing educational inequalities in the development of cardiovascular disease, ischaemic heart disease and stroke. Predictive value of stroke discharge diagnoses in the Danish National Patient Register.
CONCLUSIONS: The overall stroke diagnosis in the Danish National Patient Register had a limited predictive value. We therefore recommend the critical use of non-validated register data for research on stroke. Predictors of the effectiveness of accreditation on hospital performance: A nationwide stepped-wedge study
ConclusionHospital characteristics were not found to be predictors for the effects of accreditation, whereas conditions and types of care to some extent predicted the effectiveness.
