Effect of dominant vertebral artery angle on basilar artery curvature and plaque
CONCLUSIONS: The dominant VA angle was independently associated with BA plaque, and a dominant VA angle greater than 80° may be a marker for a high risk of posterior circulation atherosclerosis.PMID:37711832 | PMC:PMC10498226 | DOI:10.21037/qims-23-74

The diagnosis of intracranial artery stenosis in patients with stroke by transcranial Doppler ultrasound: A meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Doppler ultrasound has good consistency with conventional methods for the diagnosis of intracranial artery stenosis in patients with a history of stroke. Different reference standards may affect sensitivity and specificity; when CTA was used as the reference standard, the consistency of the TCD in the diagnosis of intracranial artery stenosis in stroke patients was relatively good.PMID:37661896 | DOI:10.3233/THC-220844

Prognostic value of coronary CT angiography for the prediction of all-cause mortality and non-fatal myocardial infarction: a propensity score analysis
Int J Cardiovasc Imaging. 2023 Aug 17. doi: 10.1007/s10554-023-02918-7. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo explore the relationship between comprehensive assessment of coronary atherosclerosis by coronary CT angiography (CCTA) and all-cause mortality and non-fatal myocardial infarction in the Chinese population. Sixty-three patients from the prospective long-term study who experienced major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) during the follow-up were included. No-MACE patients were 1:1 propensity-matched. Various qualitative and quantitative CCTA parameters, such as coronary artery calcium score (CACS), high-risk plaque, c...

Effect of combining sST2/HDL-C ratio with risk factors of coronary heart disease on the detection of angina pectoris in Chinese: a retrospective observational study
CONCLUSIONS: A higher ratio of sST2/HDL-C was associated with an increased risk of angina pectoris. sST2/HDL-C combined with CHD risk factors showed increased diagnostic value in identifying angina pectoris.TRIAL REGISTRATION: Clinical trial: ChiCTR-DDD-17013908.PMID:37583685 | PMC:PMC10423738 | DOI:10.21037/cdt-22-520

Sex difference in cerebral atherosclerotic stenosis in Chinese asymptomatic subjects
CONCLUSIONS: Cerebral atherosclerotic stenosis was different between sexes regarding the distribution, severity and the change pattern with age, which underline the sex specific management in patients with cerebral atherosclerosis.PMID:37560651 | PMC:PMC10407042 | DOI:10.1016/j.heliyon.2023.e18516

Association of ambient PM < sub > 10 < /sub > and PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > with coronary stenosis measured using selective coronary angiography
CONCLUSION: Our study provides the first evidence that chronic ambient PM10 and PM2.5 exposure was associated with coronary stenosis assessed by GS in patients with suspected coronary artery disease and reveals its potential mediators.PMID:37556955 | DOI:10.1016/j.ecoenv.2023.115338
