Approaching measles elimination in Switzerland: changing epidemiology 2007-2018.
Abstract Switzerland is aiming to eliminate measles, in line with the objectives of the World Health Organization (WHO). Physicians, laboratories and public health authorities have made great efforts to reach this goal. A continually increasing measles vaccination coverage and other preventive measures have made an impact: no major measles outbreak has been recorded since 2011. In order to evaluate progress towards elimination, measles epidemiology of a previous epidemic period (2007–2011) was compared with the current post-epidemic period (2012–July 2018) by analysis of data from the mandatory...

Emerging and Re-emerging Infections in Children: COVID/ MIS-C, Zika, Ebola, Measles, Varicella, Pertussis ... Immunizations
Emerg Med Clin North Am. 2021 Aug;39(3):453-465. doi: 10.1016/j.emc.2021.04.002. As we have seen thus far in the novel coronavirus pandemic, susceptibility, severity, transmission, and disease presentation can all have unique patterns in children. Emergency providers also have the...

Awareness of vaccine-preventable diseases and self-reported immune status of Swiss dental healthcare workers
CONCLUSION: The Swiss dental healthcare workers participating in this study had a medium level of awareness towards vaccinations. Almost all participants were vaccinated against HBV, but they were particularly hesitant about the seasonal influenza vaccination. As a considerable number of participants was unaware of their immunisation status, more comprehensive information on infectious diseases, vaccination and prevention is essential.PMID:34794273 | DOI:10.4414/SMW.2021.w30036

Measles seroprevalence in Thailand: are adolescents and young adults at risk of measles?
CONCLUSION: Individuals aged 15-34 years are vulnerable to measles infections. Supplementary vaccination in special situations, including post-exposure prophylaxis during an outbreak among young adults or providing for high-risk occupations, such as healthcare personnel, should be encouraged.PMID:35651287 | DOI:10.11622/smedj.2022058
