European consensus statement on expert colposcopy
DISCUSSION: The agreed standards included colposcopy in pregnancy and post-menopause, investigation and management of glandular abnormalities, persistent high-risk HPV+ with normal/low-grade cytology, colposcopy management of type 3 transformation zones (TZ), high-grade cytology and normal colposcopy, colposcopy adjuncts, follow-up after treatment with CIN next to TZ margins and follow-up after treatment with CIN with persistent HPV+, and more. These standards are under review to create a final paper of consensus standards for dissemination to all EFC and ESGO members.PMID:37716200 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.08.369

Vaccination against human papilloma virus in a Northeastern Italian area
CONCLUSIONS: In this area, efforts must be done to catch-up with doses missed during the pandemic and to overcome differences among different sub-areas.PMID:37712241 | DOI:10.4415/ANN_23_03_09

A synthetic delivery vector for mucosal vaccination
Biomaterials. 2023 Sep 5;302:122298. doi: 10.1016/j.biomaterials.2023.122298. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe success of mRNA-based vaccines during the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the value of this new platform for vaccine development against infectious disease. However, the CD8+ T cell response remains modest with mRNA vaccines, and these do not induce mucosal immunity, which would be needed to prevent viral spread in the healthy population. To address this drawback, we developed a dendritic cell targeting mucosal vaccination vector, the homopentameric STxB. Here, we describe the highly efficient chemical synthesi...

Gynecologic Conditions in a Cohort with Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Descriptive Analysis
CONCLUSION: The results showed that our Hispanic patients (living in Puerto Rico) had a prevalence of irregular menstrual cycles that was similar to that observed in other populations. On the other hand, the presence of HPV, infertility, and cervical cancer were lower and the frequency of Papanicolaou smears performed higher than what has been seen in the continental United States, suggesting that this topic should be investigated in future studies.PMID:37709680
