Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide as a Marker of Mucosal Inflammation in Chronic Rhinosinusitis
CONCLUSIONS: FeNO levels correlated with increased sinonasal mucosal inflammation and symptom severity in CRS regardless of asthma status. FeNO measurements may serve as a quick and noninvasive marker in evaluating CRS patients.PMID:35238663 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221080260

Association between Concentration of Air Pollutants and Prevalence of Inflammatory Sinonasal Diseases: A Nationwide Cross-sectional Study
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of AR was significantly associated with PM10 concentration. In patients with AR, endoscopic findings of watery rhinorrhea were associated with PM10. However, CRS was not associated with the air pollutant concentrations. Lower concentration of PM10 might help managing the clinical symptoms in patients of AR.PMID:35535390 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221099373

Efficacy of Vidian Neurectomy and Posterior Nasal Neurectomy in the Management of Nonallergic Rhinitis: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: EVN, SPNN, and CPNN are similarly efficacious for patients with NAR refractory to medical management. SPNN and CPNN are associated with lower rates of complications (dry eye and palatal/cheek numbness) compared with EVN.PMID:35695191 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221105933

Can Patient-Reported Outcomes and Inflammatory Markers define Endotype 2 in Chronic Rhinosinusitis without Nasal Polyps?
CONCLUSION: The type of inflammation does not impact on the symptoms, the CT scan nor the postoperative results in CRSsNP in contrast to former findings in CRSwNP.CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION: Project No. B6702020000097.PMID:36442791 | DOI:10.1016/j.anai.2022.11.020

Impact of Reverse Septal Flap on Morbidity of Nasoseptal Flap Reconstruction of Skull Base Defects
CONCLUSION: The use of an RSF to limit donor site morbidity of the NSF was shown to significantly decrease the proportion of patients who reported nasal deformities and did not show a significant difference in patient-reported sinonasal outcomes. Given these findings, RSF should be considered whenever an NSF is used for reconstruction.PMID:36991310 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231166801
