< em > In vitro < /em > antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity of Neem and Kirata herbal formulation mediated Silver nanoparticles
This study aimed to determine the antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity of Neem and Kirata herbal formulation-mediated silver nanoparticles against oral biofilm. The green synthesis of Neem and Kirata herbal formulation-mediated silver nanoparticles was done. The antimicrobial action against the strains of Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Streptococcus mutans were assessed. The results showed that the newly formulated nanoparticle had effective anti-microbial properties and decreased cytotoxic properties which make it advantageous for clinical applications and treatment modalities. It show...

Bioassay-guided isolation in < em > Salvia abrotanoides < /em > Karel. stem based on its anti-fungal and anti-trichomonas activity
CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS: Carnosol as the main component was assayed against Candida, Aspergillus, Rhizopus, and Trichomanas species. The results confirmed its effect on Candida compared to standard drugs.PMID:37593167 | PMC:PMC10427786 | DOI:10.4103/1735-5362.371587

Untargeted metabolomics and phenotype data indicate the therapeutic and prophylactic potential of < em > Lysimachia candida < /em > Lindl. towards high-fat high-fructose-induced metabolic syndrome in rats
In this study, Lysimachia candida decreased HFHF diet-induced phenotypes of metabolic syndrome, i.e., obesity, blood glucose level, hepatic triglycerides, free fatty acids, and insulin resistance. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based metabolomics was done to study the dynamics of metabolic changes in the serum during disease progression in the presence and absence of the treatment. Furthermore, multivariate data analysis approaches have been employed to identify metabolites responsible for disease progression. Lysimachia candida Lindl. plant extract restored the metabolites that are involved in the biosynthesis an...

Diversity and succession of contaminating yeasts in white-brined cheese during cold storage
This study aimed to identify yeast contaminants and characterize their succession in white-brined cheese during a shelf-life of 52 weeks. White-brined cheeses added herbs (WBC1) or sundried tomatoes (WBC2) were produced at a Danish dairy and incubated at 5 °C and 10 °C. An increase in yeast counts was observed for both products within the first 12-14 weeks of incubation and stabilized afterwards varying in a range of 4.19-7.08 log CFU/g. Interestingly, higher incubation temperature, especially in WBC2, led to lower yeast counts, concurrently with higher diversity of yeast species. Observed decrease in yeast counts was, m...
