Nox4-and Tf/TfR-mediated peroxidation and iron overload exacerbate neuronal ferroptosis after intracerebral hemorrhage: Involvement of EAAT3 dysfunction
In this study, we investigated the molecular mechanisms by which neuronal ferroptosis occurs after ICH and whether the use of corresponding modulators can inhibit neuronal death and improve early outcomes in a rat ICH model. Our findings indicated that Nox4 and TF/TfR were upregulated in the perihematomal tissues of ICH rats. Oxidative stress and iron overload induced by Nox4 and TF/TfR promoted neuronal ferroptosis post-ICH. In contrast, application of Nox4-siRNA and the deferoxamine (DFO) attenuated peroxidation and iron deposition in the hemorrhagic brain, alleviated neuronal ferroptosis, and improved sensorimotor funct...

Identification of CCR2 as a hub in septic myocardial injury and cardioprotection of silibinin
In conclusion, this study systematically elucidated the key target of SIL in the treatment of septic myocardial injury. These findings provide valuable insights into the targets of sepsis and offer new avenues for exploring drug effect systematically.PMID:36693441 | DOI:10.1016/j.freeradbiomed.2023.01.020

The involvement of hormone-sensitive lipase in all-trans retinoic acid induced cleft palate
Int J Dev Biol. 2023 Jan 20. doi: 10.1387/ijdb.220137kz. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAbnormally high concentrations of all-trans retinoic acid (atRA) induce cleft palate, which is accompanied by abnormal migration and proliferation of mouse embryonic palatal mesenchyme (MEPM) cells. Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is involved in many embryonic development processes. The current study was designed to elucidate the mechanism of HSL in cleft palate induced by atRA. To establish a cleft palate model in Kunming mice, pregnant mice were administered atRA (70 mg/kg) by gavage at embryonic Day 10.5 (E10.5). Embryonic palates were...
