Prevalence of nut allergen sensitization among children in central Poland
CONCLUSIONS: Component-based diagnostics enables differentiation between primary and cross-reactive sensitization to nut allergens and detects co-sensitization. The clinical relevance of the latter observation is remarkable as co-sensitization increases the risk of life-threatening reactions even in trace nut contamination.PMID:36909898 | PMC:PMC9993204 | DOI:10.5114/ada.2022.124730

The association between paracetamol use and the risk of asthma, rhinitis and eczema in the Polish population.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of paracetamol in the last 12 months was associated with a significant dose-dependent increase in the risk of rhinitis and skin allergy symptoms, as demonstrated by the odds ratio. Therefore, frequent paracetamol use may be a risk factor for symptoms of asthma, rhinitis, and skin allergy in the Polish population. PMID: 30260196 [PubMed - in process]

(CNN) — The coronavirus has infected more than 100,000 people worldwide. With all of the news of event cancellations, empty flights and health precautions (wash your hands!), it’s natural that people may get a little anxious every time they feel a tickle in their throat or the beginnings of a bad cough. IJERPH, Vol. 17, Pages 2787: Clinical Manifestations and Causes of Anaphylaxis. Analysis of 382 Cases from the Anaphylaxis Registry in West Pomerania Province in Poland
rek Anaphylaxis is most commonly defined as an acute, severe, potentially life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction. Current expert consensus has defined anaphylaxis as a serious reaction that is rapid in onset and can be fatal, and is a severe, potentially life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction that is still rarely diagnosed. For safety reasons, patients should visit an allergologist to identify potential causes of this reaction. There are no data from other health care centres in Poland presenting characteristics of anaphylactic reactions. Clinical manifestations of anaphylaxis should be analys...

rek Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction that is still rarely diagnosed.
