Association between cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular drug therapy, and in-hospital outcomes in patients with COVID-19: data from a large single-center registry in Poland
CONCLUSION: Among cardiovascular risk factors and diseases, HF and DM appeared to increase in-hospital COVID-19 mortality, whereas the use of cardiovascular drugs was associated with lower mortality.PMID:33926173 | DOI:10.33963/KP.15990

More for less - Long-Term Survival Modelling for Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement follow-up. The division between a ministernotomy and a full sternotomy approach
CONCLUSIONS: MIAVR through ministernotomy provides at least as good long-term survival as FSAVR. Nevertheless, it should be recommended for diabetic, poor mobility patients with pre-existing AF in order to reduce their high cerebrovascular risk and to limit the progression of HF. MIAVR also needs to be considered in patients with chronic lung diseases to improve their extremely poor survival prognosis.PMID:35188218 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0056

Prognostic value of preoperative electrocardiography in predicting myocardial injury after vascular surgery
CONCLUSION: This study confirmed that preoperative ECG abnormalities are frequent in patients undergoing high-risk vascular surgery. However, we did not find evidence supporting relation between preoperative ECG abnormalities and postoperative adverse cardiac outcomes in high risk patients.PMID:35344585 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0085
