Twelve-month outcomes of the TaurusOne ® Valve For Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation in Patients with Severe Aortic Stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: The 1-year clinical results confirm the safety and efficacy of the TaurusOne® transcatheter aortic valve system in the treatment of patients with symptomatic severe tricuspid and bicuspid aortic stenosis.PMID:34338639 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00040

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation in Patients Who Cannot Undergo Transfemoral Access
Conclusion The incidence of patients who cannot undergo TF access or who are at high interventional risk is considerably high. TA-TAVI, supported with sufficient interventional experience and appropriate valve system, represents an excellent alternative for patients with distinct vasculopathy. Surgical sutureless and sutured aortic valve replacement in low-risk patients
CONCLUSIONS: Among low-risk patients, sutureless versus sutured valve use did not demonstrate a benefit in terms of 30-day complications and produced marginally better hemodynamics, but with an increased rate of pacemaker implantation and valve-related hospitalizations.PMID:33794164 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2021.03.048

Rapid deployment versus trans ‐catheter aortic valve replacement in intermediate‐risk patients: A propensity score analysis
ConclusionRDAVR was associated with better 2 ‐year outcomes than TAVR in intermediate‐risk patients with severe symptomatic AS.

Major adverse cardiac events and functional capacity in patients at intermediate risk undergoing transcatheter versus surgical aortic valve replacement for aortic stenosis with bicuspid valves
ConclusionsOur analysis showed that SAVR is a significant predictor of better functional recovery and TAVR is associated with a lower level of functional capacity. In summary, TAVR is an acceptable option for AS patients with BcAV, and for a better prognosis, an early intervention aimed at improving functional capacity is highly recommended for this group of patients.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement using the SAPIEN 3 valve versus surgical aortic valve replacement using the rapid deployment INTUITY valve: Midterm outcomes
ConclusionRD ‐SAVR was superior to TA‐/TF‐S3 in the PVL and PPI rates. We observed similar early outcomes and valve hemodynamics. The endocarditis was higher in the TAVR group.

Clinical Outcomes of TAVI or SAVR in Men and Women with Aortic Stenosis at Intermediate Operative Risk: a post hoc analysis of the randomized SURTAVI trial.
CONCLUSIONS: Aortic valve replacement, either by surgical or transcatheter approach, appears similarly effective and safe for males and females at intermediate surgical risk. Functional status appears to improve most in females after TAVI. PMID: 32715995 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Oversized versus Non-oversized Prosthesis: Midterm Outcomes after Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Using SAPIEN 3 Valve
Conclusion Oversizing reduces the risk of device failure and intraprocedural postdilation but increases the risk of PPI. Early and midterm morbidity and mortality after OS and nOS with S3 are comparable. Coronary revascularization during treatment of severe aortic stenosis: A meta ‐analysis of the complete percutaneous approach (PCI plus TAVR) versus the complete surgical approach (CABG plus SAVR)
ConclusionsWhen comparing the total percutaneous and total surgical treatment, no significant difference in short ‐term safety outcomes or early and late mortality was observed. More evidence is needed to guide the clinical decision.

Surgical vs transfemoral aortic valve replacement in low ‐risk patients: An updated meta‐analysis of trial and registry data
ConclusionsEarly mortality is higher in SAVR while rates of PVL and PPMI are substantially higher in TAVR. There is no significant advantage with TAVR for overall survival, cardiovascular death, stroke, MI, and re ‐intervention rates.

Transaxillary compared with transcarotid access for TAVR: a propensity-matched comparison from a French multicenter registry.
CONCLUSIONS: One-month mortality, 1-month stroke/TIA and 1-year mortality are similar with TAx and TC TAVR. However TC-TAVR is accompanied by more minor bleeding and main access hematoma compared with the transaxillary route. PMID: 32310129 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
