Stroke and Systemic Thromboembolism according to CHA < sub > 2 < /sub > DS < sub > 2 < /sub > -VASc Score in Contemporary Korean Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
CONCLUSION: Contemporary AF patients have a stroke rate about one-fifth that in OAC-naïve AF patients and exhibit different stroke risk factors.STUDY REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT02786095).PMID:35352882 | PMC:PMC8965433 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.63.4.317

Role of Biological Markers for Cerebral Bleeding Risk STRATification in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation on Oral Anticoagulants for Primary or Secondary Prevention of Ischemic Stroke (Strat-AF Study): Study Design and Methodology.
Conclusions: The Strat-AF study may be an essential step towards the exploration of the role of a combined clinical biomarker or multiple biomarker models in predicting stroke risk in AF, and might sustain the incorporation of such new markers in the existing stroke prediction schemes by the demonstration of a greater incremental value in predicting stroke risk and improvement in clinical outcomes in a cost-effective fashion. Neutrophil Recruitment in Arterial Thrombus and Characteristics of Stroke Patients with Neutrophil-Rich Thrombus
CONCLUSION: Neutrophils were recruited and increased in arterial thrombosis in a time-dependent manner; however, they were not associated with the growth of formed thrombi. Neutrophil fractions in the thrombi of stroke patients appeared to be associated with atrial fibrillation and erythrocyte fraction.PMID:36303310 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.0328
