CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc Scores Predict the Risk of Ischemic Stroke Outcome in Patients with Interatrial Block without Atrial Fibrillation.
CONCLUSIONS: CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc scores may be predictors of risk of ischemic stroke or TIA in patients with IAB without AF. PMID: 27301462 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Atrial Fibrillation With and Without Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Stroke Mortality.
CONCLUSIONS: AF was found to be an independent risk factor for stroke and total cardiovascular mortality even in individuals without other TCVRFs. PMID: 32554949 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Atrial Fibrillation After Ischemic Stroke Detected by Chest Strap-Style 7-Day Holter Monitoring and the Risk Predictors: EDUCATE-ESUS.
CONCLUSIONS: In recent ESUS patients, the detection rate of AF using the 7-day Holter monitoring was 6.8% (95% CI 4.1%-11.1%). Brain natriuretic peptide, APC count, and APC short runs in the standard clinical workup seemed to be predictors of covert AF. PMID: 32801289 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Development of a Cardiovascular Disease Risk Prediction Model Using the Suita Study, a Population-Based Prospective Cohort Study in Japan.
CONCLUSIONS: The Suita CVD risk model is feasible to use and improves predictability of the incidence of CVD relative to the FRS model in Japan. PMID: 32023562 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Electrocardiographic Left Atrial Abnormality and B-Type Natriuretic Peptide in a General Japanese Population: NIPPON DATA2010.
CONCLUSIONS: In the contemporary general population cohort, PTFV1 was independently related to high BNP concentration. PTFV1 may be an alternative marker to BNP in identifying individuals at a higher risk of future cardiovascular events in the East Asian population. PMID: 32188793 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
