Long-term symptom improvement and patient satisfaction following catheter ablation of supraventricular tachycardia: insights from the German ablation registry
Conclusion</div>Ablation therapy for SVT is a safe procedure bringing symptomatic improvement and satisfaction to three quarters of patients after 1 year. Even in patients with arrhythmia recurrence, a high satisfaction level and adherence to the ablating institution could be documented. Strikingly high mortality and stroke rates in follow-up were observed in AFL patients, who apparently need consistent long-term anticoagulation and more medical attention.</span>

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly used drugs worldwide. However, during the last 10 years, accumulating evidence of an increased cardiovascular risk associated with use of NSAIDs has emerged, and NSAIDs have been linked to several cardiovascular adverse events, such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, and stroke. Cardiac arrest is the ultimate and most dreaded adverse drug event… We aimed to assess the association between NSAID use and the risk of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Comparison of coronary artery calcification, carotid intima-media thickness and ankle-brachial index for predicting 10-year incident cardiovascular events in the general population
ConclusionCoronary artery calcification provides the best discrimination of risk compared with CIMT and ABI, particularly in the intermediate risk group, whereas CIMT may be an alternative measure for reassurance in the low risk group.

Impact of the SYNTAX scores I and II in patients with diabetes and multivessel coronary disease: a pooled analysis of patient level data from the SYNTAX, PRECOMBAT, and BEST trials
ConclusionsDifferences in 5 years outcomes following PCI and CABG for patients with MVD and diabetes were influenced by anatomic complexity as measured by the SYNTAX score. The SYNTAX score II mortality prediction model showed similar performance regardless of the diabetes status.

Prediction of adverse events after catheter-based procedures in adolescents and adults with congenital heart disease in the IMPACT registry
ConclusionThe factors predicting adverse events after cardiac catheterization in adolescents and adults with CHD are different than in the general population. Validation of this model in other national or multi-institutional datasets is the next step.

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol targeting with pitavastatin + ezetimibe for patients with acute coronary syndrome and dyslipidaemia: the HIJ-PROPER study, a prospective, open-label, randomized trial
