E-086 The effect of covid-19 vaccines on stroke outcomes: a single-center study
ConclusionAlthough vaccination did not show any significant difference in stroke patient outcomes on follow-up, vaccines were associated with lower rates of morbidity and mortality at discharge among stroke patients during the pandemic.Abstract E-086 Table 1Comparison of outcomes between COVID-19-positive unvaccinated vs. fully vaccinated patients presenting with stroke.*Adjusted for hypertension, atrial fibrillation, PVD, admission NIHSS, ASPECTS, tandem occlusion, and thrombectomy Unvaccinated Vaccinated Effect Variable Unadjusted Value (95% CI ) Unadjusted p-value Adjusted Value (95% CI )* Adjusted p-value* Primary Out...

E-164 Symptomatic developmental venous anomaly thrombosis associated with covid-19 infection
We describe a milder case of DVA thrombosis in the setting of COVID-19 infection presenting with unilateral hemiparesis requiring medical management alone. A 41-year-old female with hypertension who presented with left hemiparesis. Non-contrast computed tomography (CT) of head revealed linear calcifications in the right centrum semiovale consistent with DVA. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an acute ischemic stroke in the right corona radiata adjacent to the vascular abnormality. Extensive workup for other causes of ischemic stroke was unrevealing. Cerebral angiography ruled out arteriovenous shunting and did not ...

E-177 Treatment of ischemic stroke in patients diagnosed with covid-19: a matched analysis of the national inpatient sample
ConclusionsIn this matched NIS analysis of patients treated for ischemic stroke with a concomitant COVID diagnosis, we demonstrate that EVT trends towards, although nonsignificant, higher rates of favorable functional outcomes when compared to medically managed patients.Abstract E-177 Table 1Patients with COVID and Acute Ischemic Stroke Comparing medical management vs EVT 1:1 Nearest Neighbor Matching for EVT based on Age, NIHSS, Gender, and Comorbidities Medically Managed N = 495 1 Endovascular ThrombectomyN = 495 1 p-value 2 Age in years at admission 66.82 ± 16.98 (19.00-90.00), (1.77) 65.67 ± 14.81 (28...
