A Young Woman with Ischemic Stroke: Should We Pay More Attention to Varicella Zoster Infection?
In conclusion, VZV vasculopathy needs to be considered in young adults with stroke. A high index of suspicion and early treatment seem to be important to minimize morbidity and mortality. The patient developed recurrent CVST followed by a hemorrhagic ischemic stroke despite the use of warfarin during the appropriate therapeutic window. Thus, we substituted warfarin to rivaroxaban with prednisolone and obtained a good clinical course. ANCA associated vasculitis - Evaluation of diagnosis, treatment and outcome in a group of 68 patients
Conclusions: Significant differences exist between GPA and MPA at the initial presentation that can predict the evolution of the disease. The management of patients with ANCA-associated vasculitides is difficult and marked by the adverse effects of the therapy.
