EE498 Cost of Follow-Up After an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Event in Patients With Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease in Spain: Results from the Reality Study
Ischemic cerebrovascular events stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) are a cause of morbidity and mortality in developed countries and entails a high resources consumption and costs for health systems. These patients have an increased risk of suffering a new event with the consequent additional resource consumption and an increased follow-up cost.

RWD149 Reduction in Ischemic Stroke Rates in Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation During the Period 2013-2020: A Real-Life Study in Spain
The aim of this study is to analyze the variations in the incidence of cardiovascular events and mortality rates in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) receiving antithrombotic treatment (VKA, NOAC or antiplatelet drugs) between 2013 and 2020. In addition, this study estimates the impact of these variations in the use of healthcare resources and costs in Spain.

No association between fish consumption and risk of stroke in the Spanish cohort of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC-Spain): a 13·8-year follow-up study.
CONCLUSIONS: In the EPIC-Spain cohort, no association was found between lean fish, fatty fish and total fish consumption and risk of stroke. PMID: 26880327 [PubMed - in process]
