Rivaroxaban Plus Aspirin Versus Aspirin Alone in Patients with Prior Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (COMPASS-PCI).
Conclusions: DPI compared with aspirin produced consistent reductions in MACE and mortality but with increased major bleeding with or without prior PCI. Among those with prior PCI one- year and beyond, effects on MACE and mortality were consistent irrespective of time since last PCI. Conclusions: EXSCEL-observed HRs for MACE and ACM remained robust after right censoring or application of literature-derived risk reductions, but the exenatide versus placebo MACE effect size and statistical significance were increased by IPTW. Effects of open-label drop-in cardioprotective medications need to be considered carefully when designing, conducting, and analyzing cardiovascular outcome trials of glucose-lowering agents under the premise of glycemic equipoise. Effect of Dapagliflozin on Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Insights from the DECLARE-TIMI 58 Trial.
Conclusions: Dapagliflozin decreased the incidence of reported episodes of AF/AFL adverse events in high-risk patients with T2DM. Metformin Use and Clinical Outcomes among Patients with Diabetes with or without Heart Failure or Kidney Dysfunction: Observations from the SAVOR-TIMI 53 Trial.
CONCLUSIONS: In a cohort of 12,156 patients with T2DM and high CV risk, metformin use was associated with lower rates of all-cause mortality, including after adjustment for clinical variables and biomarkers, but not lower rates of the composite endpoint of CV death, MI, or ischemic stroke. Individual Treatment Effect Estimation of 2 Doses of Dabigatran on Stroke and Major Bleeding in Atrial Fibrillation: Results from the RE-LY Trial.

Substantial Cardiovascular Morbidity in Adults with Lower-Complexity Congenital Heart Disease.
CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with lower-complexity ACHD had higher burden of adverse cardiovascular events relative to the general population that was unaccounted for by conventional cardiovascular risk factors. Relative Prognostic Importance and Optimal Levels of Risk Factors for Mortality and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Type 1 Diabetes.
CONCLUSIONS: Glycated hemoglobin, albuminuria, duration of diabetes, systolic blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol appear the most important predictors for mortality and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 1 diabetes. Lower levels for glycated hemoglobin, systolic blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol than contemporary guideline target levels appear to be associated with significantly lower risk for outcomes.
