Aortic Annular Enlargement in the Elderly: Short and Long-Term Outcomes in the United States.
CONCLUSIONS: These data suggest annular enlargement during SAVR is associated with increased short-term risk in a Medicare population. Survival curves crossed after three years, which may portend a benefit in select patients. However, annular enlargement is still only done in the minority of patients who are at risk for PPM. Iron deficiency does not impair the outcome after elective coronary artery bypass and aortic valve procedures
ConclusionsThe majority of patients undergoing elective CABG or SAVR suffer from ID;  however, we found no significant differences in regard to MACCE and postoperative morbidity between ID and non‐ID patients.

Management of cardiovascular diseases in HIV/AIDS patients
AbstractHuman immunodeficiency virus  (HIV) infection/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, a pandemic in the current population causes severe weakness of the body's immune system making the infected patient more vulnerable to life‐threatening conditions. The disease predisposes the infected patient to several cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases such as heart failure and stroke. The decline in CD4 cells following HIV infection, vulnerability to opportunistic infections and underlying HIV pathology plays a major role in the development of cardiovascular manifestations, and treatment targeting cardiomyopath...

Predictors of Non-Stenting Strategy for Acute Coronary Syndrome Caused by Plaque Erosion: 4-Year Outcomes of the EROSION Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Four-year follow-up findings reconfirmed the safety of an anti-thrombotic therapy without stenting for erosion-caused acute coronary syndrome. Patients with better response to anti-thrombotic therapy in the first month were less likely to require stent implantation during the next four years. The fate of active left ‐side infective endocarditis with operative indication in absence of valve surgery
ConclusionThe mortality of this cohort of patients is extremely high. A multidisciplinary evaluation is of paramount importance in the decision ‐making process with shared responsibility for denial of operative options. In a perspective of correct healthcare resources allocation an early palliative care consult may need to be considered in some of those patients.

Prediction of right ventricular failure after continuous flow left ventricular assist device implantation
ConclusionEUROMACS and CRITT scores predict RVF with high discrimination after LVAD implantation. Although, no other single test predicts RVF ideally, combination of risk scores and parameters discriminate RVF acceptably.

Mechanical circulatory support for cardiovascular complications in a young COVID ‐19 patient
Conclusion: Management with short ‐term mechanical circulatory support, including different cannulation strategies, resulted in a successful outcome despite his critical cardiovascular status.

The Impact of Race on Outcomes of Revascularization for Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease.
CONCLUSIONS: Black patients with MVCAD have a higher comorbidity burden and undergo PCI at higher rates. After adjusting for baseline differences, black patients still had higher rates of PCI utilization and long-term stroke. It is possible that a significant portion of racial disparities in MVCAD are driven by differences in baseline risk, however, there is evidence of possible racial bias with regards to revascularization strategies. Effects of antidiabetic medications on cardiovascular outcomes
ConclusionOptimizing blood glucose level during the perioperative period with correct medication and dose have a significant role in reducing morbidities. Measures should be taken to provide a safe blood glucose level for optimum outcomes.
