Relationship between body mass index, cardiovascular biomarkers and incident heart failure
ConclusionsPlasma concentrations of several cardiovascular biomarkers are influenced by obesity. Only NT ‐proBNP, MR‐proANP and cTnT were associated with incident HF, and BMI did not modify these associations. A combination of NT‐proBNP and cTnT improves HF risk prediction in overweight and obese individuals.

Use of sodium –glucose co‐transporter 2 inhibitors in patients with heart failure and type 2 diabetes mellitus: data from the Swedish Heart Failure Registry
ConclusionIn a contemporary HF cohort with T2DM, SGLT2i use increased over time, was more common with specialist care, younger age, ischaemic heart disease, and preserved renal function, and was associated with lower mortality and morbidity.

Hemodynamic Effects of the Nitroxyl Donor Cimlanod (BMS ‐986231) in Chronic Heart Failure: A Randomized Trial
ConclusionIn patients with chronic HFrEF, the hemodynamic effects of cimlanod and NTG are similar. The effects of cimlanod may be explained by venodilatation and preload reduction without additional inotropic or lusitropic effects. Ongoing trials of cimlanod will further define its potential role in the treatment of heart failure.

Stopping mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists after hyperkalemia: trial emulation in data from routine care
ConclusionsStopping MRA after an episode of hyperkalemia was associated with reduced risk for recurrent hyperkalemia, but higher risk of death or cardiovascular events. Recurrent hyperkalemia was common in either strategy.

Vericiguat in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation and Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction: Insights from the VICTORIA trial
ConclusionsAF was present in nearly half of this high-risk population with worsening HF. A history of AF alone at baseline portends an increased risk of cardiovascular death. Neither type of AF affected the beneficial effect of vericiguat. Development of AF post-randomization was associated with an increase in both cardiovascular death and HF hospitalization which was not influenced by vericiguat. This article is protected by copyright.
