In conclusion, already a minimal increase in the postoperative serum creatinine level after CABG was independently associated with long-term all-cause mortality and cardiovascular outcomes, regardless of preoperative renal function.

Efficacy of Prophylactic Intra‐Aortic Balloon Pump Therapy in Chronic Heart Failure Patients Undergoing Cardiac Surgery
This study investigated the efficacy of prophylactic intraoperative intra‐aortic balloon pump (IABP) usage in chronic heart failure patients with severely reduced left ventricular function undergoing elective cardiac surgery. EuroSCORE II and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide for risk evaluation: an observational longitudinal study in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery
Conclusions
Combining EuroSCORE II and preoperative NT-proBNP appears to improve risk prediction with regard to severe circulatory failure after isolated CABG for ACS. NT-proBNP may be particularly useful in patients at intermediate risk according to EuroSCORE II.

Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation After Thoracic Aortic Surgery
Conclusions Several risk factors contribute to the incidence of POAF after thoracic aortic surgery. We found that POAF significantly increased 30-day operative mortality (p < 0.0001). Our findings can be used to develop a risk stratification system for the prediction of POAF.

Depression, anxiety and major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients following coronary artery bypass graft surgery: a five year longitudinal cohort study
Conclusions:
Generalized anxiety disorder was significantly associated with MACCE at follow-up after CABG surgery. The findings encourage further research pertaining to generalized anxiety disorder, and theoretical conceptualizations of depression, general distress and anxiety in persons undergoing CABG surgery.
