Stroke-Specific Predictors of Major Bleeding in Anticoagulated Patients With Stroke and Atrial Fibrillation: A Nationwide Multicenter Registry-Based Study
CONCLUSIONS: This study found that major bleeding risk was independently associated with stroke-specific factors in anticoagulated patients with stroke and AF. This has the clinical implication that baseline characteristics of patients with stroke and AF should be considered in secondary prevention, which would bring the net clinical benefit of balancing recurrent stroke prevention with minimal bleeding complications.PMID:37455504 | DOI:10.3988/jcn.2022.0289

CONCLUSIONS: Available genetic data do not support substantial effects of cardiac traits on the risk of stroke beyond known clinical risk factors. Efficacy of Lower Doses of Pioglitazone after Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack In Patients with Insulin Resistance
CONCLUSIONS: Lower doses of pioglitazone appear to confer much of the benefit with less adverse effects than the full dose. A Novel Index in the Prediction of Pneumonia Following Acute Ischemic Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: This study presents factors that show a significant association with the occurrence of pneumonia in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Serum circulating sirtuin 6 as a novel predictor of mortality after acute ischemic stroke
In this study, we aimed at evaluating the prognostic value of serum SIRT6 levels in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Serum levels of SIRT6, collected within 72 h from symptom-onset, were measured in 317 consecutively enrolled AIS patients from the COSMOS cohort. The primary endpoint of this analysis was 90-day mortality.
