Fractional Flow Reserve-Guided PCI or Coronary Bypass Surgery for 3-Vessel Coronary Artery Disease: 3-Year Follow-Up of the FAME 3 Trial
CONCLUSIONS: At 3-year follow-up, there was no difference in the incidence of the composite of death, MI, or stroke after FFR-guided PCI with current-generation drug-eluting stents compared with CABG. There was a higher incidence of MI after PCI compared with CABG, with no difference in death or stroke. Five-Year Outcome after Off-Pump or On-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in Elderly Patients.
CONCLUSIONS: In elderly patients ≥75 years, the five-year survival rates as well as the combined outcome of death, myocardial infarction and repeat revascularization were similar after on-pump and off-pump CABG. Incomplete revascularization was associated with a lower five-year survival rate, irrespective of the type of surgery. Multiple Arterial Grafting Is Associated With Better Outcomes for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Patients.

B-Type Natriuretic Peptide Assessment in Patients Undergoing Revascularization for Left Main Coronary Artery Disease: Analysis from the EXCEL Trial.
Conclusions -In the EXCEL trial, elevated baseline BNP levels in patients with LMCAD undergoing revascularization were independently associated with long-term mortality but not non-fatal adverse ischemic or bleeding events. Second Arterial versus Venous Conduits for Multi-Vessel Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery in California.
Conclusions -Second arterial conduit use in California is low and declining, but arterial grafts were associated with significantly lower mortality and fewer cardiovascular events. A right internal thoracic artery graft offered no benefit over that of a radial artery, but did increase risk of sternal wound infection. These findings suggest surgeons should consider lowering their threshold for using arterial grafts, and the radial artery may be the preferred second conduit. Influence of Gender on Long-Term Outcomes After Implantation of Bare-Metal Stent: A Multicenter Report From the Coronary Revascularization Demonstrating Outcome Study-Kyoto (CREDO-Kyoto) Registry Cohort-1.

Optimal Medical Therapy Improves Clinical Outcomes in Patients Undergoing Revascularization With Percutaneous Coronary Intervention or Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: Insights From the Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention With TAXUS and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) Trial at the 5-Year Follow-Up.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of OMT remains low in patients with complex coronary disease requiring coronary intervention with percutaneous coronary intervention and even lower in patients treated with CABG. Lack of OMT is associated with adverse clinical outcomes. Targeted strategies to improve OMT use in postrevascularization patients are warranted.
