Effectiveness of acupuncture for patients with vascular dementia: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Acupuncture is probably helpful in vascular stroke, but strong supportive data are not yet available. Acupuncture should be used cautiously, owing to the analysis of this study based on low to moderate evidence. Further high-quality, large-scale RCTs should be conducted.PMID:35843473 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2022.102857

Visualization and Analysis of the Mapping Knowledge Domain of Acupuncture and Central Nervous System Cell Apoptosis
Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2022 Apr 14;2022:1751702. doi: 10.1155/2022/1751702. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTChinese acupuncture therapy has demonstrated good clinical effects on neurological diseases and is widely used internationally. In the past 20 years, an increasing number of researchers around the world have devoted themselves to the study of the effect and mechanism of acupuncture for the treatment of central nervous system cell apoptosis. To discover the current research status of acupuncture-induced antiapoptosis in the central nervous system, we used the method of scientometric research and data visualizati...

Efficacy and safety of Buyang-Huanwu-Tang (Boyang-Hwano-Tang) in patients with vascular dementia: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The results support the clinical use of BHT for the improvement of cognitive function in patients with vascular dementia. The methodological quality of the included studies was relatively poor. Therefore, further rigorously designed trials are required.PMID:35168040 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctcp.2022.101547

Efficacy of Acupuncture Treatment for Incidence of Poststroke Comorbidities: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Nationalized Cohort Studies
Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2022 Feb 1;2022:3919866. doi: 10.1155/2022/3919866. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTAcupuncture has been applied as a complementary therapy in stroke survivors worldwide and approved to be beneficial to stroke recovery. However, there is little medical evidence regarding the association between acupuncture and the risk of poststroke comorbidities. We reviewed big data studies from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database to investigate the risk of poststroke comorbidities after acupuncture treatment in a real-world situation. Ten English (PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane, Alt Hea...

Tongxinluo Exerts Inhibitory Effects on Pyroptosis and Amyloid- < em > β < /em > Peptide Accumulation after Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion in Rats
Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2021 Sep 16;2021:5788602. doi: 10.1155/2021/5788602. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTAmyloid-β peptide (Aβ) accumulation is a detrimental factor in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injuries accounting for dementia induced by ischemic stroke. In addition to blood brain barrier (BBB), the glymphatic system mediated by aquaporin-4 (AQP-4) on astrocytic endfeet functions as an important pathway for the clearance of Aβ in the brain. Cerebral I/R induced astrocytic pyroptosis potentially causes the AQP-4 polarization loss and dysfunctional BBB-glymphatic system exacerbating the accumulation of ...
