Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI, or angioplasty with stent) is a common procedure used to treat patients with obstructive coronary artery disease, with an estimated 600,000 procedures performed annually in the United States. PCI has a low risk of complications for patients, but that's not the case for clinicians. Patients receive a dose of radiation during a PCI procedure, which takes anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. Endocrine Disruptors and Health Effects in Africa: A Call for Action
Conclusion: To address the many challenges posed by EDCs, we argue that Africans should take the lead in prioritization and evaluation of environmental hazards, including EDCs.
