A Nationwide Analysis of Outcomes of Stroke in Hospitalized Patients with Essential Thrombocythemia: 2006 to 2014
Conclusions:Patients with ET who are hospitalized with stroke have significantly worse outcomes. This study demonstrated that a statistically significant difference exists among different age groups of patients with ET and stoke who died during hospitalization when stratification is made using age groups and Charlson Score. This study may serve as an initial point to include new risk factors for further risk stratification. Atrial fibrillation in CLL patients treated with ibrutinib. An international retrospective study
Summary Atrial fibrillation (AF) occurs in 5–9% of patients treated with ibrutinib for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL); the clinical consequences and optimal management are unclear. We retrospectively studied 56 CLL patients who received ibrutinib and developed AF. Median time to onset was 3·8 months. AF was persistent in 35/56 (62%) cases despite treatment. Clinical consequences included: three episodes of severe cardiac failure (one fatal) and one stroke; eight non‐thrombocytopenic patients (14%) experienced severe bleeding adverse events. Altogether, ibrutinib was permanently discontinued in 26/56 cases (46%)....

Outcome of Patients with Relapsed/Refractory (R/R) Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Treated with Ibrutinib within a Named Patient Program (NPP) in Italy. a Real-Life Retrospective Study
Conclusions. The results of this real-life study show that in unselected patients with R/R CLL the clinical activity of ibrutinib was comparable to that reported in CTs. However, a third of patients discontinued ibrutinib within 24 months from the start of treatment. Objective: To describe TTNT and TTD for CLL/SLL patients who initiated a first-line (1L) or second-or-later-line (2L+) therapy with ibrutinib or other regimens, in all patients and for subsets of patients with high baseline risk of AF/AF-related events.
