Redefine the role of D- α-Tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate on P-glycoprotein, multidrug resistance protein 1, and breast cancer resistance protein mediated cancer multidrug resistance
Eur J Pharm Sci. 2023 Sep 7:106579. doi: 10.1016/j.ejps.2023.106579. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCancer drug resistance is an ever-changing problem that most patients need to face in their later stages of treatment, especially the multidrug resistant (MDR) type. The drug efflux transporters, including P-glycoprotein (P-gp), multidrug resistance protein 1 (MRP1), and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP), play the crucial roles in this sophisticated battle. In recent decades, researchers try to find potential inhibitors to impede the drug efflux function of above transporters. D-α-Tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 su...

Clinical and cost outcomes of a polyethylene glycol (PEG)-coated patch versus drainage after axillary lymph node dissection in breast cancer: results from a multicentre randomized clinical trial
CONCLUSION: Compared with patients who received drainage after axillary lymph node dissection, the use of a polyethylene glycol-coated patch resulted in a higher rate of seroma, but a lower number of postoperative outpatient or emergency department visits and thus a reduction in overall costs.PMID:37311694 | DOI:10.1093/bjs/znad150

Adoption of Ultrasound-guided Polymer Nanocarriers in Tumor Chemoradiotherapy and Oxidation Treatment
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Feb 28;69(2):138-143. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.2.23.ABSTRACTThe research was aimed at discussing the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided polymer nanocarriers in the clinical treatment of tumors by chemoradiotherapy and oxidation treatment. Twenty female Balb/cAnN (BALB/C) mice were selected as the research objects in the experiment. These mice were set up as tumor-bearing mice, and then ultrasound-guided polymers with different doses, including polyethylene glycol-poly 2-bromoethyl methacrylate (PEG-PBEMA) (Micelle group), free small molecules called l-ascorbyl palmitate (PA) (PA group)...

Selective in Situ Analysis of Mature microRNAs in Extracellular Vesicles Using a DNA Cage-Based Thermophoretic Assay
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2023 Apr 20:e202303121. doi: 10.1002/anie.202303121. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMature microRNAs (miRNAs) in extracellular vesicles (EVs) are involved in different stages of cancer progression, yet it remains challenging to precisely detect mature miRNAs in EVs due to the presence of interfering RNAs (such as longer precursor miRNAs, pre-miRNAs) and the low abundance of tumor-associated miRNAs. By leveraging the size-selective ability of DNA cages and polyethylene glycol (PEG)-enhanced thermophoretic accumulation of EVs, we devised a DNA cage-based thermophoretic assay for highly sensitive, selec...

The Safety of Neoadjuvant Therapy with Polyethylene Glycol Liposome Adriamycin Combined with Docetaxel in Patients with Breast Cancer Complicated by Axillary Lymph Node Metastasis
CONCLUSION: The combination of polyethylene glycol liposome adriamycin and docetaxel in neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with early BC with axillary lymph node metastasis has certain cardiac safety. And in the human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) positive population, polyethylene glycol liposome adriamycin combined with docetaxel and trastuzumab also has certain cardiac safety.PMID:36947649
