RNA interfering targeting human leukocyte antigen-g enhanced immune surveillance mediated by the natural killer cells on hepatocellular carcinoma.
Conclusions Abnormal expression of HLA-G in HCC cell lines plays an important role in protecting against NK cell attack. The significant correlation between HLA-G expression and NK cell lysis implies that the abnormal expression of HLA-G might contribute to the mechanism of escape from host immune surveillance in HCC. The effect of CXCL9 on the invasion ability of hepatocellular carcinoma through up-regulation of PREX2
In this study, human HCC as well as adjacent noncancerous tissues, together with three kinds of liver cancer cell lines were investigated to clarify the possible involvement of CXCL9 in the regulation of HCC invasion and metastasis. Invasion ability of liver cancer cells were evaluated by transwell assays and it is enhanced after co-cultured with recombined human CXCL9 (rhCXCL9). As a trigger of Rac GTPase signaling after G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) activated by CXCL9, Phosphatidylinositol-3, 4, 5-trisphosphate RAC Exchanger 2 (PREX2) mRNA expression of the liver cancer cell lines was elevated after co-cultured with...

Upregulated expression of ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2Q1 (UBE2Q1) is associated with enhanced cell proliferation and poor prognosis in human hapatocellular carcinoma
In this study, we investigated the expression pattern of UBE2Q1 in HCC cell lines and human HCC specimens, and its potential clinical and biological significance in HCC. Western blot and immunohistochemical analyses revealed that UBE2Q1 was significantly upregulated in HCC tumorous tissues compared with the adjacent noncancerous ones. Next, univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed to determine the prognostic significance of UBE2Q1 in HCC. The results showed that upregulated expression of UBE2Q1 was positively correlated with high histological grades of HCC and predicted poor prognosis. In addition, the ...

Overexpression of PSF1 is correlated with poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma patients.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the inhibition of PSF1 might provide new therapeutic approaches for HCC. PMID: 25198552 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The RNA-binding protein Sam68 regulates tumor cell viability and hepatic carcinogenesis by inhibiting the transcriptional activity of FOXOs
Abstract Src associated in mitosis (Sam68; 68 kDa) is a KH domain RNA-binding protein that belongs to the signal transduction and activation of RNA family, and has been implicated in the oncogenesis and progression of several human cancers. Our study aimed to investigated the clinicopathologic significance of Sam68 expression and its role in cell proliferation and the underlying molecular mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We demonstrated that Sam68 expression was significantly increased in HCC and high expression of Sam68 was significantly associated with Edmondson grade, tumor size, tumor nodule numbe...

High nuclear expression of APE1 correlates with unfavorable prognosis and promotes tumor growth in hepatocellular carcinoma
In this study, bioinformatics analysis of APE1 was performed in several databases, including the TCGA, GeneCard, Human Protein Atlas and Ualcan databases. The relationship between APE1 mRNA expression and several attributes of liver cancer patients in TCGA was investigated. Then, the protein expression of APE1 was detected by IHC analysis in 95 HCC samples and the association between APE1 expression and the clinicopathological parameters of HCC patients was explored. GSEA-KEGG analysis was performed to predict the potential signaling pathways that associated with APE1 expression. Then the siRNA-mediated knockdown model of ...

Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...
