Effect and mechanism analysis of siRNA in inhibiting VEGF and its anti-angiogenesis effects in human osteosarcoma bearing rats.
CONCLUSIONS: The growth of tumor tissue in osteosarcoma bearing rats is inhibited in Ad-VEGF-siRNA group, Ad-VEGF-siRNA + neoadjuvant chemotherapy group and Ad-VEGF-siRNA + anti-angiogenesis chemotherapy group. The effect in Ad-VEGF-siRNA + neoadjuvant chemotherapy is more significant than simple biological therapy or Ad-VEGF-siRNA + anti-angiogenesis chemotherapy. PMID: 26636524 [PubMed - in process]

RLN2 regulates in vitro invasion and viability of osteosarcoma MG-63 cells via S100A4/MMP-9 signal.

Transforming growth factor alpha promotes osteosarcoma metastasis by ICAM-1 and PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
Abstract Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignancy of bone and is characterized by a high malignant and metastatic potential. Transforming growth factor alpha (TGF-α) is classified as the EGF (epidermal growth factor)-like family, which is involved in cancer cellular activities such as proliferation, motility, migration, adhesion and invasion abilities. G protein‐gated inwardly rectifying potassium (KIR3) channels play a primary role in the antinociceptive effect of oxycodone, but not morphine, at supraspinal sites
Conclusion and ImplicationsThese results demonstrate that KIR3.1 channels play a primary role in the antinociceptive effects of oxycodone, but not those of morphine, at supraspinal sites and suggest that supraspinal KIR3.1 channels are responsible for the unique analgesic profile of oxycodone.

SIRT1 inhibition by melatonin exerts antitumor activity in human osteosarcoma cells.
In this study, we assessed the antitumor activity of melatonin against human osteosarcoma cells (9607 cell line) and explored the role of SIRT1 in the activity of melatonin. melatonin treatment resulted in strong antitumor activity, as evidenced not only by reductions in tumor cell vitality, adhesion ability, migration ability and glutathione (GSH) levels but also by increases in the apoptotic index and reactive oxygen species. Interleukin-6 induces vascular endothelial growth factor expression and promotes angiogenesis through apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 in human osteosarcoma.
