Persistent lymphocyte reduction and interleukin-6 levels are independently associated with death in patients with COVID-19
AbstractTo investigate the value of the peripheral blood lymphocyte count (LYM) combined with interleukin-6 (IL-6) in predicting disease severity and prognosis in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2  (SARS-CoV-2) pneumonia. This was a prospective observational cohort study. A total of 109 patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia who were admitted to Nanjing First Hospital from December 2022 to January 2023 were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups based on disease severity: severe (46 patients) and critically ill (63 patients). The clinical data of all patients were collected. The clinic...

Remdesivir in pregnant women with moderate to severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19): a retrospective cohort study
AbstractData on the efficacy of remdesivir in Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) are limited in pregnant patients since they have been excluded from clinical trials. We aimed to investigate some clinical outcomes following remdesivir administration in pregnancy. This was a retrospective cohort study conducted on pregnant women with moderate to severe COVID-19. The enrolled patients were divided into two groups with and without remdesivir treatment. The primary outcomes of this study were the length of hospital and intensive care unit stay; respiratory parameters of hospital day 7 including respiratory rate, oxygen saturat...

Changing patterns and clinical outcomes of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 severe pneumonia treated with remdesivir according to vaccination status: results from a real-world retrospective study
AbstractSince the beginning of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), several therapies have been purposed. Remdesivir has emerged as an encouraging antiviral drug with for the treatment of severe patients with documented COVID-19-related pneumonia. Although several studies about remdesivir effectiveness exist, no study investigated the combination of remdesivir with the vaccination status. The aim of this study was to assess if the administration of remdesivir could show some differences in outcomes on the basis of the vaccination status. The primary outcome was the mortality at hospital. The secondary outcomes of interest ...
