HSD19 Impact of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic on Non-COVID Healthcare Utilization in Saudi Arabia
Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted healthcare systems and their functions including financing and services provision. According to the world health organization (WHO), the preventive and curative services of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) were particularly affected. The United Kingdom (UK) experienced 70% reduction in non-COVID care utilization while the United States (US) witnessed 38% reduction in myocardial infarction treatment. The aim of this study is to estimate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on non-COVID healthcare utilization in Saudi Arabia among patients with NCDs.
