Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (Paxlovid ®): French pharmacovigilance survey 2022
CONCLUSION: Overall, this analysis shows that nirmatrelvir/ritonavir safety profile was conform to current summary of product characteristics (SmPC). The main concern was the risk of DDI. Therefore, SmPC and expert recommendations should be systematically consulted before initiation of this antiviral, which is particularly indicated in polypharmacy patients. A case-by-case multidisciplinary approach including a clinical pharmacologist is required in these complex situations. Blood pressure elevation, confusion, cutaneous reactions and AKIs were the main unexpected ADRs of interest to follow, but need to be confirmed with a...

Role of spontaneous reporting in investigating the relationship between mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and myocarditis: The French perspective
CONCLUSION: The study highlighted the role of the spontaneous reporting system in the detection, assessment, and quantification of myocarditis related to m-RNA vaccines. It suggested from September 2021 that mRNA-1273 was reasonably related to a higher risk of myocarditis than BNT162b2 in people under 30, particularly after the second injection.PMID:37012151 | PMC:PMC9990878 | DOI:10.1016/j.therap.2023.03.003

Pharmacovigilance signals from active surveillance of mRNA platform vaccines (tozinameran and elasomeran)
CONCLUSION: This non-exhaustive review illustrates the experience of RFCRPV in identifying and monitoring pharmacovigilance signals related to mRNA vaccines in France during the COVID-19 pandemics, and the crucial role of pharmacological and clinical expertise in this area. It also highlights the predominant contribution of spontaneous reporting in the generation of pharmacovigilance signals, particularly for serious and rare adverse events not detected before marketing.PMID:37012149 | PMC:PMC10007713 | DOI:10.1016/j.therap.2023.03.005

Supply and quality of colonoscopy according to the characteristics of gastroenterologists in the French population-based colorectal-cancer screening program
CONCLUSION: The constraints likely affected the time-to-colonoscopy as well as the colonoscopy detection rate without impacting the SAE's occurrence, highlighting the need for a respectable reference time-to-colonoscopy in CRCSP.PMID:36998423 | PMC:PMC10044857 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v29.i9.1492
