Telogen effluvium and COVID-19: a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: In our study, the incidence of TE was highly related to COVID-19 infections among both sexes. However, the incidence was greater among the female population. The awareness level toward post-COVID-19 TE was poor among most of the participants in our study.PMID:37667959 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33437

Olfactory System: Basic Anatomy and Physiology for General Otorhinolaryngologists
Clin Exp Otorhinolaryngol. 2023 Sep 4. doi: 10.21053/ceo.2023.00185. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOlfaction is one of the five basic human senses, and it is known to be one of the most primitive senses. The sense of olfaction may have been critical for human survival in prehistoric society, and although many believe its importance has diminished over time, its impact on human interaction, bonding, and propagation of the species remains. Even if we are unaware of it, the sense of smell greatly affects our lives. Sense of smell is closely related to overall quality of life and health. However, olfaction has been neglected f...

Once in a blue moon: coronavirus disease complicates pregnancy in a patient with unknown pulmonary hypertension and subsequent left ventricular dysfunction
Arch Cardiol Mex. 2023 Sep 5. doi: 10.24875/ACM.22000089. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDuring COVID-19 pandemic, several clinical manifestations have been described beyond respiratory compromise that characterizes the viral disease. Cardiovascular manifestations are one of the main complications. In this case, we report an unusual association between the novo diagnosis of pulmonary arterial hypertension in a pregnant patient with SARS Cov-2, with subsquent development of left ventricular dysfunction.PMID:37669622 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000089
