Every year MSIF offers a number of McDonald Fellowships to young and talented researchers from emerging countries*. The Fellowship enables the recipient to travel to an established research institution to work with leading researchers in MS, with a view to returning to their own country to establish a programme of MS research that involves the application of the newly learned techniques. The Individual Education Scholarships were established by the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation in 2004 to provide financial assistance for nursing professionals earning academic degrees. The purpose of the HPNF Certification Research Grant is to seek the impact of certification within the research topic that pertains to palliative care. As long as there is a mechanism of measuring the impact of certified versus non-certified hospice and palliative nurses, the research can be on any relevant topic.
