How to get started with changing your world
Last week I introduced you to the idea of Storming the Castle but I’d be the first to admit not everyone wants to change their own world let alone change THE world and these posts aren’t for those people. Instead they are for that small minority of people who do want to create change, whether it’s in their own life or whether it’s for the benefit of others and incidentally, as you’ll begin to see, those two things are not mutually exclusive. Many others who have come before me will tell you that it is a lonely road when you are storming a castle and it can feel a bit like you’re in a film, you know the...

In conversation with Dave Sivers
In this week’s conversation, Dave Sivers and I are chatting about all things character, backstories and senses. Dave first joined me on the Thursday Throng back 2013 with his first book in the Archer and Baines series The Scars Beneath the Soul. Dave started out writing hybrid crime fantasy novels which he describes as rather like Raymond Chandler meets JRR Tolkein, before moving onto contemporary crime with th Archer and Baines series. Although the first book The Scars Beneath the Soul was modestly successful, it was the sequel to the first book, Dead in Deep Water that really took off in the genre Serial Killers wh...

Have you ever ‘ Stormed a Castle ’ and created massive change?
Have you ever got to a point and thought ‘enough is enough, something has to change’? If you have then you have arrived at the castle gates; what you then need to decide is whether you are going to Storm the Castle, issue the challenge and be the change you want to see, or whether you’re going to pass by, unnoticed in the crowd. Everything in the world that we know from the table you might be sitting at or the web you are surfing has been created originally from the mind of one man or woman. Every revolution, from the big to the small, stems from just one person’s willingness to Storm a Castle. They all do this...

In conversation with Claire Montanaro
This week I’m in conversation with renowned spiritual teacher, clairvoyant and channel Claire Montanaro. Claire and I first met when I was her social media strategy coach. She later joined me on the Thursday Throng in 2014 with her book Spiritual Wisdom. Claire’s writing is focused on providing a conduit to greater understanding and wisdom for everyone on a spiritual journey. Since the original interview she has also written a new book titled A Handbook for the New Consciousness which, despite being offered a publication deal, remains unpublished as she feels it isn’t yet the right time. Instead, Claire b...

The what and the who of Linda
A psychic once told me that it was almost as if I had appeared fully formed on earth at the age of 10 – rather like Mr Bean – with no history or family to speak of. With a statement like that I might have felt it incumbent upon me to explain why the age of 10 was so significant in my life, and whilst it surely would have been interesting to you; personally, I’m much more interested in the present.  As Leslie Poles Hartley once said “the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there“. People, I believe, are often tarred with two brushes.  That of ‘WHAT’ they are, an...

In conversation with Warren Stribling
This week I’m with Warren Stribling, airman, legionnaire, teacher and writer (oh and author) which is a very eclectic portfolio for any adult life. He now lives in Mexico with his wife, but has been known to teach English as a foreign language in France, after a stint in the French Foreign Legion. Our conversation was interesting as he is the first person I’ve met who is openly a part of the stories he writes, which begs the question about how close to home the fiction is to reality.  As we progressed though it became apparent that although the circumstances and settings may be similar, the story really is jus...
