Medicaid insurance and new solo private practice
Hello! I am in the process of opening a solo psychiatric practice this summer and currently getting credentialed with some of the commercial insurers and Medicare. During this credentialing process, a blue cross blue shield agent said, "If you choose not to accept Medicaid Managed Care members, this would be for all health plans, not just for BC/BS. NYS doesn’t allow for providers to pick and choose what MMC policy they can and cannot accept, as it is all or nothing." To my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Un-accredited Managed Care Residencies
Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back from non-accredited managed care residencies? How similar is their timeline to PhORCAS programs? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Medicare guidelines for managed care
Has anyone worked for a managed medicare company like Humana or United doing to review for approval to IPR. I do peer to peers all the time and i swear its luck of the draw on getting patients approved for transfer from acute to ipr. The constant thing i hear is “they dont fit medicare criteria for ipr”. I know the basics and when i ask which criteria they never will say specifics. Just usually the same line about not fitting over and over. If they elaborate at all they just say the person... Can't put my fingers on exactly what area I am interested in...is it a bad look for letters of intent?
I am a 4th year pharmacy student currently in my 6th APPE block and starting my journey applying to Pharmacy residencies around the country. As of right now, I have not been able to narrow down my interests to just one area; however, I am currently interested in managed care, infectious disease, pediatrics, ambulatory care, critical care, medication safety, and community. I plan on applying mainly to managed care pharmacy system programs, pediatric programs, and some clinical programs that... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Recruiters/Hiring agency?
What hiring agencies/recruiting services are good for someone seeking a way into the pharma industry or managed care industry? I've tried LinkedIn and haven't found much help from it with many of them being scammers/fakes. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Managed care residency
I am looking for someone who has done managed care residency or currently doing. Do you recommend attending ASHP midyear this year? I know many industry fellowships and clinical residencies attend there, but how about managed care residencies? Does anyone has any experience that can share? Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Private Practice vs. Managed Care
I would really appreciate anyone's advice about this: have been working with a managed care organization for the past 3 years. I make into the upper 500k. Good benefits. Good lifestyle. Got an opportunity to work in a private practice with significant more salary (probably double), good contracts in place and with PI work. I don't know if it's worth jumping ship? The current job does have potential to move into management positions as well. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I've been a member since 2007 and came to give back as a Rph.
Well, it's been a few years since I posted, so you know I'm not a troll or new account. Some background: Went to pharmacy school about 10 years ago, did a residency, got into managed care. I've read a few of the posts here and just wanted to give my 2 cents. Don't go to pharmacy school unless you are smart and can hustle. I know everyone thinks they are like this, so be honest with yourself and figure it out. I'm in CA. Basically, if you can't get into UCSF, USC, UOP or UCSD. Find another... Medicare For All: Ramifications for Managed Care Companies (Kaiser Permanente, etc.), AMCs (Envision, USAP, Somnia, etc), and billing companies (Abeo)
I am not trolling or hoping to start a heated political discussion. And I don't wish to debates the merits of the proposal, nor its chances of passing. But Medicare For All is going to put Kaiser out of business, correct? I mean, they will still own their hospitals and clinics and patients will still engage with their Permanente physicians, but all the fat will be trimmed. Same thing for the Mayo Clinic, IHC, and all the others, correct? Is the reason nobody talks about this is... M.S in Pharmaceutical Outcome and Policy
I am considering enrolling in M.S program from University of Florida (UF) some time in the future for career advancement and opportunities in industry/managed care (specifically the health outcome liaison field and formulary management). The program from UF seems to have received a lot of recognitions from AMCP, and they have some tracks that really interest me. I am particularly interested in the applied pharmacoeconomic and managed care tracks. Both seem to have similar career prospect. I... What do nephrologists do/lifestyle of nephro
Hi everyone I hope all is well for everyone-- I just wanted to know if anyone could enlighten me on what private practice nephro docs do-- do they work out of dialysis centers or do they have private clinics? How many hours do they typically work a week/ what is call schedule like-- are there alot of emergencies? In addition, how much of the managed care/insurance issues do they have to deal with-- I have heard that physician payment for dialysis is GUARANTEED by the government. Please...
