Digital Concepts for the Care of Newborns with Craniofacial Anomalies
This article aims to explain the digital workflow of treating newborns with 3D CAD/CAM feeding and stimulation plates through two case studies.PMID:38519040 | DOI:10.1055/a-2267-4555 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Geburtshilfe und Neonatologie)

Role of Ductus Venosus Doppler Sonography for the Prediction of Perinatal Outcome in Term Pregnancies Complicated by Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
CONCLUSION: In GDM pregnancies at term, DV Doppler sonography seems to have no benefit for APO prediction.PMID:38519041 | DOI:10.1055/a-2272-6743 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Geburtshilfe und Neonatologie)

Evaluation of Fetal Breathing-Related Nasal Fluid Flow Doppler in the Third Trimester in Pregnant Women with Fetal Growth Restriction: Preliminary Observations
CONCLUSIONS: Although the number of participants was too small to draw a definitive conclusion, FGR appears to be associated with a decrease in peak inspiratory and expiratory velocity. The clinical significance of changes in fetal breathing-related nasal fluid flow Doppler parameters in FGR is as yet unclear, and their use in clinical follow-up and predicting unfavorable perinatal outcomes are the subjects of future research.PMID:38519042 | DOI:10.1055/a-2271-1198 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Geburtshilfe und Neonatologie)

Fetal Epicardial Fat Thickness in Obese Pregnant Women: Its Effect on Fetal Cardiac Function and Neonatal Outcomes
CONCLUSION: Fetal EFT and mod-MPI were higher in obese pregnant women. It is encouraging that fetal EFT predicts low APGAR, but more important information can be obtained if postnatal follow-up of these cardiac changes caused by obesity can be performed.PMID:38503305 | DOI:10.1055/a-2267-5478 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Geburtshilfe und Neonatologie)

A Uncommon Case: Kasabach-Merritt syndrome with VACTERL Association
We present a case of a mature male neonate with Kasabach-Merritt- Syndrome as well as VACTERL association. The VACTERL association describes a group of malformations. Our patient presented with anal atresia combined with tethered cord, and left renal agenesis. The VACTERL association as well as Kasabach-Merritt syndrome were found to be independent pathologies within this patient. A common occurrence or an association with each other has not been described in the literature so far. The challenging coagulation setting due to severe thrombocytopenia complicated the surgical management so far. Finally, mTOR-inhibitor sirolimu...
