Sleep Health in U.S. Military Women: A Scoping Review of the Literature, 2000 –2019
Sleep, critical to military operational effectiveness, is among the top five outpatient conditions for which military women seek care, yet sleep research in active duty servicewomen is sparse. We conducted a scoping review to 1) describe literature focused on sleep disorders and promotion of sleep health among U.S. active duty servicewomen and 2) identify opportunities for future health policies and research that may improve sleep health and decrease incidence of disordered sleep in servicewomen. A Scoping Review of Cervical Cancer Risk Factors, Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment in U.S. Active Duty Military Women
Maintaining military readiness requires integration and delivery of appropriate sex-specific health care services for active duty servicewomen (ADSW). Cervical cancer screening (CCS) provides early detection, intervention, and treatment, allowing for reductions in human papillomavirus (HPV) infections and cervical cancer cases. This scoping review examines existing cervical cancer evidence related to ADSW and identifies research gaps, leverage points, and policy recommendations within the context of the social ecological model for military women's health. A Scoping Review of Breastfeeding in Active Duty U.S. Military Women
Active duty (AD) women in the U.S. military experience challenges during childbearing owing to unique occupational demands. The purpose of this article is to report the findings from a scoping review on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period that are specific to breastfeeding among servicewomen. Clinical –Community Linkages: The Impact of Standard Care Processes that Engage Medicaid-Eligible Pregnant Women in Home Visiting
To better address physical, emotional, and social needs of Medicaid-insured pregnant women, a Federally Qualified Health Center and a hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology residency practice collaborated with their agency-based state Medicaid-sponsored home visiting program, the Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP). In partnership, both practice sites created patient standards of care to identify and engage eligible pregnant women into underutilized home visiting services for enhanced prenatal care coordination. Women Veterans ’ Experiences of Harassment and Perceptions of Veterans Affairs Health Care Settings During a National Anti-Harassment Campaign
