Drugs are chemical substances intended for use in the cure, treatment, or prevention of diseases. When different drugs are taken together, a drug-drug interaction can delay, decrease, or enhance absorption of either drug and may cause adverse effects. Quantification Methodology of Health Technology in Senegalese Healthcare Facilities via New Indicator—“TechSan”
For more than 30 years, the management of medical equipment has largely focused on maintenance aspects. Many inventory-based indicators have been developed to ensure optimal follow-up of devices. However, certain qualitative aspects of medical devices are not taken into account by these usual indicators. Three Ways Telemedicine Is Mitigating (What Can Be) the Perilous Effects of the Flu
During the height of flu season last year, 49 states had widespread influenza, schools in Oklahoma and Texas had to close, and governors in New York and Alabama directed state resources toward the epidemic. In fact, last year was one of the worst flu seasons in history—with more than 80,000 flu-related deaths and 900,000 hospitalizations in the United States alone. The flu continues to be a major epidemic that threatens the health of millions around the world each year.
