Falls are a significant health problem in community-dwelling older adults, resulting in injuries, deaths, and increased healthcare costs. Falls were a quality concern for a Northeastern home care agency and this project aimed to evaluate the falls prevention process for older adults receiving home care services by determining potential root causes of falls and to identify a practice change. Allocation of Pediatric Home Care Nursing Hours: The Minnesota Experience
Despite an increasing demand for pediatric home care nursing, there is no comprehensive or universal standard of care for prescribing pediatric home care nursing hours based on a child's medical complexity. Adoption of a qualification tool (QT) to allocate home care nursing hours based on the medical complexity of a child may mitigate inequality in access to care and improve the patient and family experience. Above and Beyond the Call of Duty: Rural Home Care and Hospice Nurses' Experiences Caring for Veterans
Approximately 4.7 million Veterans live in rural areas and face challenges receiving support and care for complex service-connected healthcare needs. The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study was to explore nurses' experiences caring for Veterans in rural home care/hospice settings. Semistructured interviews (N = 14) were conducted between August 2020 and March 2021.
