Pre-operative Neo-adjuvant Chemotherapy Related miRNAs as Key Regulators and Therapeutic Targets in Colorectal Cancer
CONCLUSION: In patients with colorectal cancer, miRNA expression in the tumoral regions before and after neoadjuvant therapy has represented a variable pattern. It has been shown that miRNA studies can be used to predict the clinical course and response to treatment with differences in expression levels. It has been concluded that specific miRNAs may be candidate biomarkers for colorectal cancer.PMID:37723961 | DOI:10.2174/1874609816666230816152744 (Source: Current Aging Science)

Training of Pelvic Floor Muscle Training Improves the Severity and Quality of Urine Incontinence and Increases Social Participation of Older Women in Southern Iran
CONCLUSIONS: Tele-training of the Kegel exercise, even during the pandemic, can play an important role in improving incontinence and social participation in older women. Therefore, this training can be used to prevent and improve urine incontinence in public health centers in the community.PMID:37723962 | DOI:10.2174/1874609816666230816125026 (Source: Current Aging Science)

Sarcopenic Obesity and Its Impact on Quality of Life: A Concise Review
Curr Aging Sci. 2023;16(3):194-198. doi: 10.2174/1874609816666230525161020.ABSTRACTThe presence of sarcopenia and obesity is a feature of sarcopenic obesity (SO). In this condition, the fat-to-lean body mass ratio is incorrect. Excess visceral fat, the percentage of body fat, subcutaneous fat, and body mass index causes poor health and premature death and has been linked to conditions such as type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, and several types of cancer. In addition, control, autonomy, self-actualization, and enjoyment are all components of quality of life; factors that reduce these aspects are ...

Environment Intensifies Imbalance and Fear of Falling: Comparing Urban and Rural Aging Communities
CONCLUSION: Imbalance in older people leads to the fear and experience of falling. This imbalance is strongly influenced by the environment. Urban pollution can contribute to this problem. Future studies on aging need to focus on environmental pollution and diversity in the experience of falling and imbalance.PMID:37638588 | DOI:10.2174/1874609816666230503094432 (Source: Current Aging Science)
